ZS_2.1CL - ZeroScan 2.1. ZeroScan is a wardialer designed to locate things that aren't ringouts, busys, or people saying "Hello?"; in practice, this reveals some very interesting things. This version does a *69 before every dial and dumps the progress log to the serial port (slot 1). A more complete writeup (& eventually, some modern code) is here.
This program, frankly, rocked hard. It beat the pants off of my buddy's USR dualie & ToneLoc, and it discovered some very cool shit. (Which does not mean I broke the law and hax0red all sorts of defensless dialup boxes; IMO the really interesting things aren't carriers -- they're little telco oddities, strange intercept messages, things like that.)
REMOBS_HACKER - A REMOBS hacker based on ZeroScan. Dial a REMOB, wait for the tone, send a random 4-digit code, expect a second tone (indicating success). Repeat 2 more times; hang up; redial. I never really used this much, since it seemed an awful lot like grinding c0deZ out of a PBX (which was, and still is lame.)
Both of these tools are in AppleSoft BASIC & require ZS.DIAL and ZS.EARS
